History

Established in 2004, Edible Assets ("EA") acts as a Strategic Advisor, Agent and/or Investor to small to mid-size consumer-facing companies and restaurants.

EA specializes in investments and acquisitions of niche concepts, advising on roll out strategies, assistance in targeting key real estate locations and franchise opportunities and developing Restaurant Management Agreements (RMA’s).

The Edible Assets team is experienced in investing in, managing, operating, and advising companies with between $2 million and $50 million in sales. Our goal is to work as principals with management to build profitable, sustainable businesses and to realize significant returns on capital for management, our investors, and our partners.

Edible Assets invests through its discretionary investment vehicle with our investors, and co-investments, high net-worth, hedge funds and has strategic partnerships with larger private equity firms.

Consulting –strategic advisor for concept expansion and target specific consulting assignments

Hospitality Recruiting –Edible Assets has a strategic alliance with Restaurant Management Recruiters Advanced [RMR], a specialized career recruitment agency that was created specifically to advance the careers of qualified, restaurant industry professionals throughout the US.

Controller –Edible Assets Freelance Controller Division, “FCD”, by working hands on handling all financial reporting, profit and loss analysis, budgeting and forecasting.  E.A. handles the fiscal reporting for its clients; we advise and assist its clients by putting controls in place to allow their clients to increase profitability and enabling them to focus on driving revenue.

Real Estate –consults with its clients on finding locations in New York, specializing in food service.  We work with restaurateurs, developers and hotel groups that are interested in co-existing together.

Edible Assets firm is led by an experienced restaurant operator and investor which is supported by a strategic board of advisors.

Jonathan M. Chapski, Principal, has extensive direct investment and operational experience in the service industry. As a multi-unit operator within various companies, his expertise includes; lease negotiations, concept and business development and multi-unit expansion. (NY Bar Group, East Coast Saloons, Public House Investments and Capital Restaurant Concepts)

Mr. Chapski has served as a strategic advisor to The Roasting Plant, Brain-Twist Beverages, TCG Fund, Teany Beverages, Chef Daniel Angerer (Klee Brasserie), East End Restaurant Holdings LLC, The Protein Bakery, Joe’s Seafood Prime Steak & Stone Crab,  LEYE (Lettuce Entertain You, Enterprises), Public House Investments, Elixir Juice Bar, Circle Peak Capital LLC and Lansco Real Estate Corporation.

Edible Assets executives have between 10-40 years of direct investment and operating expertise, with strong investment experience in the areas of Hospitality, Specialty Packaged Food & Beverage and Real Estate.

Investment Criteria

Edible Assets Invests in companies with between $2.5 million and $30 million in sales or transaction value. EA seek to commit between $500,000 and $5 million in equity and often partner with other sophisticated investors or will act as the sponsor on larger transactions.
